Yobe gov dissolves LG councils

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved the dissolution of all 17 local government councils.

The Press Secretary to the Secretary of the State Government, Malam Shuaibu Abdullahi, stated this to the newsmen in a statement.

He said Governor Buni has also directed all local government chairmen to hand over the affairs of their local governments to directors of personnel management on or before April 25.

Daily Trust reports that the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC) has fixed May 25 to conduct LG councils’ elections.
