The Lukman Olabode Kehinde (LOK) Foundation has empowered some Lagos residents with generators, deep freezers, sewing machines and business grants.

Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Luqman Akerele, said the gesture was to improve the lives of the people.

He said: “We believe in giving out to people; helping those around us and we believe that when we do this, the Almighty will increase His blessings upon us.”

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items they have received, adding that the items should not be treated as just gifts but something to use to improve their businesses.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Esther Kakobi, lauded the foundation, adding that the foundation will make the country better if given bigger opportunities.

Another beneficiary, Mrs Rasheedah Tijani, a hairstylist who received a generator, said it will aid her business.

The foundation also commissioned a water project at the Army Children’s School, Military Cantonment, Ikeja.

Akerele said the project, sponsored by his mother, Alhaja Mulikat Akerele, was to ensure portable water for the school.
