Another herder killed in Plateau

Barely a day after the killing of the Chief Imam of Jumma’at Mosque of Ndun village of Tangur District in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Malam Muhammad Sani Idris, as well as an Okada rider, Muhammad Gambo, another Fulani herder, Nuhu Adam has been reportedly killed in Mortal Community of Bokkos District.

The State Chairman of Gang Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), Garba Abdullahi, who confirmed the latest incident, said the corpse was recovered on Thursday in Mortal Community, less than two kilometers to Ndun, a community where the Chief Imam and his younger brother were ambushed.

The chairman explained that Nuhu was ambushed by the assailants in the area
while he was returning from the farm, adding that the group had informed the personnel of Operation Safe Haven and Police in Bokkos.

The spokesperson of Operation Safe Haven, Captain Oya James, didn’t respond to the inquiry made by our correspondent at the time of filing this report.

Daily Trust reports that about 23 villages of Bokkos were attacked on the Eve of Christmas, where more than 150 people were killed.

Security agencies including, Army, Air Force, Navy and the police had after the recent killings in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi, vowed to bring an end to the attacks and counter attacks between farming communities and pastoralists.
