Another bandits attack claims two lives in Plateau

A fresh attack launched by suspected bandits last Wednesday, in Dundu Village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State has left another two people dead.

This is apart from the twelve persons killed in Duste village.

However, the Plateau Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, confirmed the incident to The Nation on the phone that the killings started on Monday.

The CP said four persons had been apprehended in connection with the bloody clash.

It was gathered that the Dundu’s attack was said to have been carried out by bandits in the early hours of Wednesday.

It was further gathered that one of the victims died on the spot during the attack, after he was shot by the gunmen in an ambush, while the second person who sustained injuries, died on the way to the hospital.

Those killed during the attack were 39-year-old Raphael Bawa, who had two wives and four children, as well as 40-year-old Mabo Agah, who died before getting to the hospital.  He had a wife and five children.

The spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, ASP Gabriel Ubah, and the National President of the IRIGWE Development Association, Sunday Abdu, both confirmed the incident in Jos.

Abdu, however, condemned the recent attacks in the state, called on the security agents to protect the people from further attacks.
