Cassie speaks out following viral abuse video

37-year-old singer and actress Cassie Ventura has broken her silence for the first time since the emergence of a distressing 2016 video depicting her experiencing physical abuse from her former partner, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. 

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, May 23, Cassie shared her thoughts, expressing appreciation for the immense support she had received from the public. She said the outpouring of affection from the public has been instrumental in her quest for peace and justice. 

“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now.”

However, Cassie noted that her path to healing is still underway, emphasising the significance of the support she has encountered, which is of extreme value to her.

“Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from the past.

“This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me, thank you,” Cassie wrote.
