CIPM to introduce artificial intelligence in 2024

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has unveiled plans to introduce artificial intelligence in 2024.

This was disclosed yesterday in Lagos by the President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Olusegun Mojeed, during the 52nd induction ceremony for CIPM members.

According to him, human resource professionals and employees should not be scared about AI as it will facilitate the way things are done.

“Artificial intelligence will play a very key role in whatever we do, in our recruitment, payroll and industrial relations,” he stated.

He also stated that anyone practising HR in the country without the CIPM certification is a quack.

“What you have seen today, over 400 inductees, they took it upon themselves to be professionals in the way they manage people. Even if you don’t want to get certified, as long as you manage people you need to be talking to us, so that we can guide you accordingly.”

On what he is leaving behind, the outgoing president stated that HR is no longer a thing anyone can practice.
