WAFU U-17: Golden Eaglets crash out after defeat to Cote d’Ivoire

Defending champions, Golden Eaglets of Nigeria were deposed by Cote d’Ivoire, who won their semi-final tie at the WAFU B U-17 Championship 1-0.

Youbah Coulibaly scored the winning goal for the Baby Elephants in the 54th minute.

The Eaglets couldn’t find the equalising goal afterwards.

Aside from missing out on a place in the final, Manu Garba’s side also failed to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

They will now face hosts Ghana in the third-place on Tuesday.

Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso will clash in the final of the competition on the same day.
