Oshiomhole Vows to Secure Victory for APC Candidate in Edo Gubernatorial Election

Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has pledged his unwavering support for Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the upcoming governorship election on September 21. Oshiomhole, speaking at the inauguration of the party’s Campaign Council over the weekend, declared his readiness to play any role necessary, even that of a sweeper, to ensure the APC’s victory.

The former governor of Edo State urged residents affected by flooding and those whose children lack proper educational facilities to rally behind the APC to bring about the needed change. “If it requires me to take the role of a sweeper, I am ready to sweep Senator Monday Okpebholo into office as governor,” Oshiomhole stated emphatically.

Oshiomhole emphasized that every APC member and supporter must actively participate in the campaign to secure a win for Okpebholo. He insisted that titles within the party are irrelevant and that everyone must contribute to winning their respective units, wards, local governments, and ultimately, the state.

Senator Matthew Urhoghide, the Director General of the APC Campaign Council, also called on aggrieved party members to unite for the common goal of achieving victory. He urged them to put aside differences, particularly those concerning financial aspects, and focus on the party’s success.

As the election approaches, the political landscape in Edo State is heating up. The APC’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, will be contesting against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and the Labour Party’s candidate, Olumide Akpata. The outcome of this election will determine the future leadership of Edo State.
