Umahi Inspects Federal Road Projects in Enugu, Praises Tinubu’s Commitment to Infrastructure

Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, conducted an inspection of several Federal Government projects in Enugu and neighboring states on Sunday. His visit highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Upon his arrival in Enugu State, Minister Umahi inspected the reconstruction of the collapsed New Artisan Bridge on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. He also reviewed the progress of the 23-span mega twin flyover bridge construction at Emene.

Describing the flyover as a transformative project for the people of Enugu and neighboring states, Umahi emphasized its significance. The statement from his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Uchenna Orji, underscored the project’s potential to alleviate long-standing traffic issues and boost regional connectivity.

The inspected road is a crucial link between various suburbs and neighboring states. For years, it has been a challenging route for vehicles traveling between Benue State and the far northern regions of Nigeria, as well as those heading to the South-South through Cross River State.

The statement read, in part: “The administration of Mr. President thought it expedient, in keeping with his agenda of robust economic revolution for a sustainable future of our country, to construct for Enugu State a mega twin flyover that will beat the elegance and utility of all flyovers ever built in the South East.

“This flyover, when completed, will change the face of Enugu State, attract trade and investment to the state, reduce accidents and insecurity, improve safety, and increase patronage to the economic facilities, including airports in Enugu and Ebonyi States and those of other neighboring states.

“Mr. President means well for Nigeria and is determined to revolutionize the economy through road infrastructure development. The Honourable Minister has this as a task that must be accomplished. He knows the job. His passion to deliver is unequaled.”

Minister Umahi’s inspection underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, which is seen as a critical component for economic development and regional integration. The projects are expected to significantly enhance the quality of life and economic prospects for the residents of Enugu and surrounding areas.
