Edo gov’ship: Muslims demand fair representation in governance

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, the state chapter of the Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has called for fair representation of Muslims in the governance of the state

The state’s NSCIA Chairman, Mallam Abdulazeez Igbinidu, who made the call in Benin yesterday in a communique at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting, said Muslims were not adequately represented in the governance of the state.

Mallam Igbinidu, while reading the communique, said the meeting was organised to chart a common cause for Muslims as regards the conduct of the September 21 governorship election in the state.

He said, “There is need for equity and fairness in representation in the governance of the state so that Muslims would be adequately represented.”
