Edo 2024: PDP vice chair withdraws from campaign council

The South South National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih has withdrawn his membership of the party’s campaign council ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.

He said Governor Godwin Obaseki and the governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo can’t lead Edo State out of its current challenges.

Orbih disclosed this at the weekend in his country home of Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area of the state during the Edo North PDP (legacy group) leader’s stakeholders’ meeting at the weekend.

He said, “I am not part and parcel of the PDP campaign council. Let me send a powerful message to PDP, we the Edo PDP can tell you that it is not well with Edo PDP.  I hereby denounce my membership of PDP campaign council in Edo State.”

He said, “Obaseki and his chosen candidate are not the way forward for Edo State. The PDP legacy group will vote for a candidate who would represent the good people of the state.”

Orbih who also expressed displeasure over the impeachment of the state deputy governor, Shaibu, said the PDP legacy group is solidly behind him.

Also, a former speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Mr.  Kabiru Adjoto said they would key into any decision taken by Orbih with regards to the September 21 governorship election in the state.
