Torrents of accolades for Osinbajo at 64

Torrents of tributes poured on Monday from eminent Nigerians to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as he celebrated his 64th birthday.
Governors, lawmakers, monarchs, lawyers and other Nigerians in various fields of endeavor celebrated the man they called the epitome of humility and selfless service.
Governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) hailed the Vice-President for his huge contributions to the development and unity of the country.
A goodwill message by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Kebbi State Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu reads: “We join all Nigerians to celebrate this special day with you and your family.

“We commend your leadership, vision, commitment and loyalty to our nation and to President Muhammadu Buhari. We are confident that we will be able to resolve our national challenges and move our country, Nigeria, forward with your dedicated service to our APC-led Federal Government under the leadership of President Buhari.”
The Northern States’ Governors’ Forum, through its Chairman and Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, described Osinbajo as a patriotic Nigerian who has combined character, professionalism and pragmatism in handling national issues.
“Among other things, we cherish his leadership of the National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP), which seeks to usher Nigeria into the threshold of modern livestock business that is capable of ending the negative consequences of open grazing in the country.
“We assure the Vice-President of our continued collaboration as he supports the President to deliver his promises to the people.”
Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, described the Vice-President as a “consistent and reform–minded performer”.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu saluted Osinbajo’s “patriotism, doggedness, dedication, commitment and tireless efforts in partnering and working with President Buhari and other critical stakeholders in addressing insecurity, corruption and economic issues in the country”.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the governor described the Vice-President as a seasoned administrator who has used his skills and positions in different capacities for national growth.
Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa recalled Osinbajo’s invaluable role in the enthronement of peace in the Niger Delta, saying his efforts helped in halting agitations and destruction of oil facilities in the region.
In a statement in Asaba, the state capital, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, the governor also hailed Osinbajo for his astute contributions towards good governance in the country.
Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu applauded the Vice President’s efforts in complementing President Buhari to take Nigeria to enviable heights.
“Having distinguished himself in governance and legal profession, the contributions of the Vice-President to nation-building are enormous and worthy of commendation,” he said.
