Ondo State former governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has denied a rumour that he planned to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said playing partisan politics was the least of his concerns at the moment.
Mimiko, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, John Paul Akinduro, said he would remain in the Zenith Labour Party.
He said he was more concerned about how to pull the nation back from the brink of disintegration than the rumoured defection to another party.
Mimiko noted that he yearned for a collaboration of left leaning political groups to offer a real ideologically-driven alternative in the nation’s political process.
He described his purported plan to defect to the APC as “a piece of fake news”.
