Kano gives N18.5m to Shasha clash victims

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has given N100,000 each to 185 indigenes, whose shops were burnt during the clash between traders at Shasha market in Akinyele Local Government of Oyo State.

The state government said the money would give succour to the victims and enable them to resume their businesses.

Information Commissioner Alhaji Gabar Muhammed, who led the government delegation to Ibadan to disburse the money, noted that Governor Ganduje felt concerned about the incident.

He said the governor directed his team to visit the victims and deliberate on how they can stay in Ibadan and go about their activities.  Muhammed said his delegation had interacted with the victims to know their challenges, adding that his team would submit their complaints to the state government so that it can discuss them with the Oyo State Government.

Also in the delegation was the Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Muhammed Sanusi. The Chairman of Shasha Traders Association, Alhaji Usman Nyako, receiving the donation on behalf of the traders, thanked the Kano State Government for the kind gesture.
