Fani-Kayode: Uba Sani uniting Christians, Muslims In Kaduna

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, says Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has made efforts to reconcile Christians and Muslims in the state.

Fani-Kayode, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the governor has provided hope and support for Southern Kaduna Christians who once suffered persecution.

In late 2023, Sani vowed that his administration was committed to putting right all the wrongs in the state and championing genuine reconciliation with the people of Southern Kaduna.

He made this known during a message of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association Pastor’s Congress, at the Throneroom Trust Ministry Kafanchan.

The governor explained that his administration had realised some of the mistakes of past administrations and was willing to address them for the progress and development of the state.

Speaking through the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Christian Matters, who is also the Chairman, Kaduna Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Ishaya Adamu Jangado, Sani said, “I appeal to the Christian community to support and rally round the current administration at all levels in other to achieve the needed development.”

He also attended a Christmas programme in Southern Kaduna.

Commending Uba’s effort via his X account on Monday, Fani-Kayode called on other political leaders to emulate him.

He wrote, “The rapprochement that is taking place in Kaduna state between the Christian and Muslim communities is refreshing and inspiring.

“After years of neglect, deprivation and persecution the Christians of Southern Kaduna finally have a state Governor who treats them as equals and who offers them hope and strong support.

“This really touches my heart and I commend my brother Governor Uba Sani (@ubasanius) for having the courage to do the right thing and build all the necessary bridges of peace and unity.

“Let this be a shining example to all from both sides of the religious divide in our great nation.

“Before we are Christians or Muslims we are Nigerians and our first duty as leaders is to enhance peace, unity and harmony between the adherents of these two great faiths.”
