Buni delaying shot inauguration in Yobe

By Duku Joel, Damaturu

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni is still being awaited for the inauguration of the COVID-19 vaccination in the state.

His official flag-off of the exercise will give confidence to the people to accept the vaccine as other political leaders in the state, including traditional rulers, will join the exercise.

The Nation investigation revealed that Buni is still engaged with national politics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite the arrival of the vaccine in the state on March 9 from Kano.

A statistics for the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency shows that Yobe State as of yesterday vaccinated more than 4,000 frontline workers, representing about 6.7% of the proportion of the vaccination.

When contacted, Commissioner for Health Yobe State Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana told our reporter that he was at a graveyard and could not respond to the inquiry on the issue.
