Covid-19: FAAN Issues Warning To Passengers
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has warned passengers to desist from making unnecessary payment to port officials in regards to COVID-19 test, urging them to report any case of such.
FAAN General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, in a statement said they have received some complaints from passengers on how the port officials demanded payment on COVID-19 related test.
According to her, once a passenger has gone through a COVID test before they board their flights, they do not need to pay any money to any official of the airport for issues relating to COVID-19 test.
“Arriving passengers are expected to have gone through the COVID-19 test before boarding their flights from ports of departure, therefore, they should not pay any money whatsoever to any airport official for the purpose.

“All COVID-19 measures put in place at the airports are free for passengers and does not attract any charges.” She said.
Meanwhile, the authority announced that it has begun its investigation on the issue, urging passengers to comply with all security and safety measures put in place at the airports, as the authority is dedicated to the safety and security of passengers.
