Two arrested for currency racketeering in Enugu

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Command, have arrested the duo of Nweke Daniel Kelechi and Iroude Chibuzor over alleged currency racketeering of N850,000.

The suspects were arrested during a sting operation around United Bank for Africa, UBA, ESBS, in Enugu.

Their arrest followed actionable intelligence and surveillance on the suspects’ activities.

During the sting operation, Chibuzor was initially arrested, but it was discovered that he was working for Kelechi, who authorised him to sell new notes.

The commission added that they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
