NSCDC parades fake doctor in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has apprehended a fake doctor, Mohammed Nasiru Mode, who had been working with Yariman Bakura Special Hospital in Gusau, the State capital.

The Commandant of the Corps, Sani Mustapha, said the suspect was arresting after an intelligent tip off.

Parading the suspect on the charge of impersonation contrary to Section 484 of the Penal Code, Mustapha said the 26-year-old suspect, who also calls himself Dr IBB, was arrested at the hospital where he visits daily from 11am to 12pm to attend to vulnerable patients who are mainly female at the gynecology ward.

“The suspect usually took advantage of their ill health while claiming to be a medical doctor and nefariously carries out medical proceedings and examinations on unsuspecting patients in the hospital”, he added.

Mode, who confessed to the crime, said he operates mostly at the female wards of the hospital and that whenever he saw a complicated case, he would call doctors on duty.

Mustapha averred that the Corps will pummel perpetrators of such act with the extant laws of the federation.

The State NSCDC warned anyone in such habit to desist forthwith.

He said the suspect will be charged to court immediately the investigation is concluded.
