Man arrested for stealing Ogun court generator
Folorunsho Olaniyan, 28, was apprehended while reportedly attempting to steal a generator from a customary court in Ogun State’s Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area.
Olaniyan, an Ota native, was reportedly apprehended by court registrar Kareem Tolulope.
According to a source, the suspect broke into the office where the generator was kept on Tuesday, January 24, by unscrewing the building’s lock.
The source claimed that the suspect committed the crime by taking advantage of the state government’s announced public holiday for the gathering of Permanent Voter Cards.

Mercy Ajewole, a representative of the Local Government Service Commission, also confirmed the suspect’s detention.
She added that Olaniyan was turned over to the police after he admitted to having over the barrier to reach the secretariat.
“Items found on him were two screwdrivers and a bag,” she added.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, could not be reached for comment as of press time.
