Kaduna governor backs Tinubu’s 2027 reelection, cites development projects

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, citing his administration’s development efforts.

Sani spoke on Friday during the inspection and inauguration of projects in Makarfi and Kudan local government areas of the state.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, AbdulKadir Meyere, the governor said the projects were made possible by Tinubu’s efforts and collaboration between the federal and state governments.

He also commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, for his role in facilitating the projects.

The projects included the groundbreaking for male and female hostels at Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi, the construction of the Makarfi bypass linking several communities, and the inauguration of a 20-bed primary healthcare centre.

Sani urged residents to support leaders delivering development projects to address their needs.

Abbas said more than 80 projects would be executed across seven local government areas in Kaduna State’s Zone One, excluding Zaria, within the year.

He said the projects would address needs in education, healthcare, road infrastructure and enterprise development.

Abbas explained that the hostel project would provide safer accommodation for students and improve their learning environment, while the primary healthcare centre would expand access to essential medical services.

He added that the Makarfi bypass would improve connectivity, reduce travel time and transportation costs, and ease the movement of agricultural produce to markets.

The speaker commended Sani for promoting inclusive development and disclosed that the governor had played a significant role in selecting and allocating projects to communities across the state.

He said the projects followed consultations with the governor, adding that cooperation among the federal, state and local governments was essential for sustainable development.

Abbas urged contractors to execute the projects according to specifications and within stipulated timelines. He also called on residents to monitor construction work and protect completed facilities.

He said the projects formed part of broader efforts to improve education, healthcare, road connectivity and economic opportunities across Kaduna State.
