The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), over the weekend in Abuja, trained and issued start-up kits to 55 youths in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to grow their businesses.

He said, “The training is expected to run concurrently in 13 states of the federation, with 55 participants in each state, totalling 715 to be empowered by SMEDAN, as the federal government is committed to ensuring an inclusive government that leaves no one behind, especially the youths, women and PWDs.”

Odii noted that, “55 people were trained. If each participant employs just five persons in the next six months, 275 more jobs would be created from this training.”

A beneficiary, who is a Person with Disability (PWD), Mr Adero Umar, lauded SMEDAN and the government for the opportunity provided them to be part of the training, adding that the start-up kits would go a long way in empowering not only himself, but people around him.
