NYSC foundation disburses N6m to 15 ex-corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Foundation has disbursed N6 million to 15 ex-corps members who applied for loans to boost their businesses.

Speaking in Abuja at the disbursement of soft loans to beneficiaries, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the foundation, Mr Francis Erekosima, said the ultimate goal was to encourage exiting and ex-corps members to acquire skills that would equip them to become not just self-employed but also employers of labour.

Some beneficiaries got N400,000, while some got N350,000 each. Some beneficiaries are into fish farming, rice milling, poultry, leather works (foot wears), barbing, cassava farming, among others.

He emphasised that about 145 ex-corps members had benefited from the foundation’s soft loans ranging from N250,000 to N400,000.
