Desist from illegal crude refinery, Navy warns operators

The Commander of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), Rear Admiral Olusegun Ferrera, has warned illegal oil refinery operators in the Niger Delta region to desist from all forms of illegal refinery and crude oil theft.

He urged them to embrace the non-kinetic approach adopted by the command in tackling illegal refinery activities.

Ferrera spoke in an interview with newsmen after his familiarisation tour of the Nigerian Navy NNS Pathfinder in Port Harcourt, yesterday.

He said the warning had become necessary given the directives  given to the military by President Bola Tinubu to rid Niger Delta of all forms of illegal refineries and crude oil theft.

He said the Operation Delta Safe had embraced non-kinetic approach in tackling illegal refineries activities and warned those engaged in the criminal activities to desist from such acts or face the full wrath of law.

He said, “We will continue to let suspected crude oil thieves know that Operation Delta Safe is continuously committed to eliminating this crime.
