CHAN 2025: Nigeria to Battle Senegal, Congo, and Sudan in Group D

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face tough competition in Group D of the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) as they go head-to-head with Senegal, Sudan, and the Republic of Congo. The tournament, now rescheduled to August 2025, will still be jointly hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

CHAN 2025 Group Stage Fixtures

The official draw, conducted at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi on Wednesday, set the stage for an exciting tournament:

  • Group A: Co-hosts Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, and Zambia. The opening match will feature Kenya against the 2018 CHAN champions, Morocco.
  • Group B: Co-hosts Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and Central African Republic — the team that ousted Cameroon in the qualifiers.
  • Group C: Co-hosts Uganda, Niger Republic, Guinea, and two wild card teams yet to be announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Nigeria’s Group D promises thrilling encounters as the Super Eagles will face some of Africa’s rising football powers in their quest to advance to the knockout stage.
