As the date to the 2020 Governorship election in Ondo State draws nearer, there has been unrest in the state as supporters of the two major political party clashed in Oba Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area, leaving five people injured.
Topnewsnaija gathered that it is not the first time that the supporters of All Progressive Congress and People Democratic Party will attack one and other since the campaign for the 2020 governorship election began.
However, reacting to the unfortunate event, the Head of Eyitayo Jegede Campaign Organisation, Samuel Fasua said that the hoodlums that attacked Jegede’s convoy were the supporters of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
“While we are shocked and saddened by this attack, we are not too surprised, because the PDP has shown that it is not focusing on issues in its campaign for the election. They will rather deploy violence and falsehood to score cheap political points,” he said.
