Ghanaian label RuffTown Records has announced local artist Baba Tundey as its latest signing. The company, founded in 2015, is renowned for orchestrating the successful mainstream careers of some of Ghana’s leading artists, including Wendy Shay and the late Ebony Reigns.
The unveiling of Baba Tundey coincided with the release of his music video for ‘Last Born (Remix)’ featuring Holyrina, which is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
“Glad to introduce my first ever signed male artist to you,” RuffTown CEO Ricky ‘Bullet’ Nana Agyeman said, describing the artist as “one of the voices of the future.”
Although the details of the agreement, including its scope and duration, have yet to be disclosed to the public, Baba Tundey confirmed the news, expressing his gratitude and enthusiasm for joining RuffTown.
“I am happy to be part of this great label,” he said. “We all know what RuffTown Records can do, and as a young talent, I need to expand my reach and work with some great producers and artists. I am excited about the future, and I thank God for this opportunity. Baba Tundey is about to serve you with nothing but good music. Stay with me on this journey.”
Born David Tofik, Baba Tundey, has both Ghanaian and Nigerian roots, and his music listens as a fusion of hiplife and Afrobeats. Following his debut single ‘Talent Never Dies’ last year, Baba Tundey has steadily built an appreciable fan base for himself. His repertoire includes tracks like ‘Sika Duro’, ‘Sad World’ and ‘Anastasia’ featuring Jay Bahd.
