Tinubu appoints Sani Idris CEO Almajiri commission

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr Idris Muhammad Sani as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesman, said Dr Muhammad Sani holds master’s and doctorate degrees in Islamic Studies and has held various esteemed positions including Director-General of Al-Iman School Lafia, and Commissioner of Basic/Secondary Education in Yobe State.

He also served as chairman of the Nigerian Arabic Language Village in Borno State and Secretary-General of the Association of Private Schools in Nasarawa State.

Ngelale added that with Dr Sani’s appointment, President Tinubu has reversed the appointment of retired Brig.-Gen. Lawal Ja’afaru Isa (Rtd) as the executive secretary of the commission.

Tinubu appointed General Isa last week as the CEO of the commission after sacking Mr Sha’aban Sharada.

Brig. Gen. Isa, (Rtd) will now lead the commission as chairman of the board.
