Pick best hands as Ministers, aides – Mumuni tasks Tinubu
A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has enjoined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pick the best people in his team as ministers, advisers and heads of various government agencies.
Mumuni, who was a member of the Security and Intelligence Committee of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, noted that this was necessary for the new administration to move the country forward.
DAILY POST reports that Tinubu was sworn-in as the 6th democratically elected President in Nigeria on Monday.
The former gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change, CPC, in Lagos state, advised the former Lagos governor to put round pegs in a round hole by appointing the best brains as ministers and advisers.
He added that this would help the new President to achieve his aims in all areas of human endeavours.
Mumuni made these declarations on Tuesday in a statement issued on his behalf by his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar, a copy of which was made available to DAILY POST.
He said, “I want to urge Mr. President to pick the best among those who are his team, the patriotic and qualified ones with the interest of Nigeria at heart.
“He also has the important task of uniting aggrieved members of the APC back to the fold, those who kicked against the Muslim-Muslim ticket and those who felt slighted with the position of the party on the National Assembly leadership. As a party, we must continue to forge a united front.
“Asiwaju Tinubu should also remember that the formation of the ruling APC is the amalgamation of progressive political parties such as the defunct ACN, CPC, APGA, among others. The capable ones should be given the opportunity to serve the country with their exposure and expertise. He should embrace these tendencies.
“Asiwaju has always emphasised that he will run an inclusive government and will be fair to all irrespective of religious, tribal and partisan persuasions. This is the best for us to move the country forward and heal the nation.”
