1. Biafra News: Counsel Attacks Soludo, Tells FG To Release Kanu To Nigerians

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a lawyer for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the fugitive leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, has argued that Kanu should be returned to Nigerians rather than Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State.

At the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s Saturday campaign launch in the state capital of Awka, Soludo demanded Kanu’s immediate and unconditional release.

On October 13, an Appeal Court order released Kanu, who had been detained since 2021. A few days later, however, the Federal Government requested a stay of execution, which the Appeal Court approved. Read More…

2. Biafra News: Nnamdi Kanu sues Malami for $20 billion

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, is being sued for defamatory publications by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Kanu alleged that the AGF defamed the IPOB leader when he claimed that the latter escaped bail and sought $20 billion in damages through his attorney, Aloy Ejimakor.

Ejimakor uploaded copies of the lawsuit on his Twitter page on Tuesday, stating that Malami’s slanderous article had harmed Kanu’s ongoing legal proceedings. Read More…

3. Biafra News: Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Accused FG Of “Sinister Plot Against Ndigbo”

Nnamdi Kanu’s special attorney, Aloy Ejimakor, has alleged that the Federal Government has “a sinister plot against Ndigbo” in order to keep him imprisoned. Ejimakor is representing Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Ejimakor said that there was a covert plan to push “Ndigbo between a rock and a hard place” as Nigeria prepares for the election in 2023 in a message he posted on his Twitter page on Monday.

He tweeted, “It’s becoming self-evident that the refusal to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is part of a sinister plot against Ndigbo. The hidden agenda is to put Ndigbo between a rock & a hard place as Nigeria farcically careens into the 2023 elections. The good news is that it will boomerang. Yes!” Read More…

4. Biafra News: ‘Standing As Kanu’s Surety Is Needless’, IPOB Tells Soludo

The governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, recently called for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who has been held in custody since 2021.

The pro-Biafran group said that while they welcomed the outcome, the Federal Government’s violation of a superior court’s competent jurisdictional ruling precludes the need for bail or standing surety at this time.

The group emphasized that Kanu had been released from custody by the court of appeals on October 13, 2022, and did not require bond because there was no charge against him at the time.
