Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on Monday donated a house worth N6.5 million and N2.5 million to the family of the Late Mohammed Isa, who died in an accident involving a mine-resistant vehicle belonging to the Nigerian Army.

It was gathered that the accident happened on August 19 when the military vehicle crushed Mohammed Isa on the Maisandari-Damaturu road.

The deceased was survived by his pregnant wife, 4 children, and a stepmother.

The sad development generated reactions on social media with Damaturu residents calling for proper investigation and compensation for the victim’s family.

Residents attributed the accident to alleged reckless driving and violation of traffic rules by the soldiers.

Presenting the house documents worth N6.5 million and N2.5 million cash to the Emir of Damaturu Alhaji Shehu Hashimi II El-Kanemi, Governor Buni said the donation was in fulfilment of his promise to support the late Isa family.

The governor was represented by his Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Baba Gana Malam Kyari and Special Adviser on Security Affairs, General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd).

Buni also promised to sponsor the education of late Isa’s children and the feeding of his pregnant wife.

Responding, Ibn Umar Al-Amin El-Kenemi, thanked the governor for the love and support to the family of the late Muhammad Isah.
