Easter: Barau preaches unity – Daily Trust

As Christians celebrate this year’s Easter, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has enjoined them to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, perseverance and unity, stressing that the country’s challenges are surmountable.

Barau, in a statement Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, prayed for peace and prosperity for all Nigerians and urged them to enjoy a stress-free and violence-free celebration.

He enjoined Christians to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ and the lessons of Easter which emphasised peace, love and forgiveness.

Senator Barau also called on all Nigerians to reflect on the state of the nation and rededicate themselves in prayers and sacrifice.

The lawmaker urged the people to unite, love one another and pray for the country and its leadership to move the nation forward.
