Adamawa hotels to install CCTV cameras over murder

Adamawa State deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has issued a directive to registered hotels in the state to install CCTV cameras within six months or risk losing their licences.

The directive is coming on the heels of the recent killing of a woman at Happy Day Hotel in Target Junction Jimeta Yola on January 19, 2024.

During an emergency meeting with hospitality business owners at Government House, Yola, the deputy governor expressed dissatisfaction over the tragic incident, emphasising that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority of the government.

In his response, Samuel Aduata, the state Chairman of the Hoteliers Association, praised the state government for its bold action and assured him of the union’s cooperation and support towards preventing any future occurrences.
