ABU, MAU matriculate 12,126 students for 2023/2024 session

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Adamawa yesterday matriculated a total of 12,126 newly admitted students for the 2023/2024 academic session.

ABU matriculated 8,547 students while MAU matriculated 3,579 students.

During ABU’s matriculation ceremony in Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, the vice-chancellor, advised the new students to maintain peace and exhibit good character throughout their university journey.

He urged them to avoid social vices like examination malpractice, drug abuse, indecent dressing, and other negative behaviours.

Prof, Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, the deputy vice-chancellor (Administration), who represented Prof, Kabiru at the event, reiterated the university’s commitment to providing the best academic experience to its students.

Similarly, Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur, the vice-chancellor of MAU, said the 3,579 newly matriculated students were admitted through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) processes.

He encouraged the students to use social media responsibly, steer clear of vices such as drug abuse and cultism, familiarize themselves with institutional policies, including those on examination malpractice and dressing, and utilize the guidance and counselling unit for support and assistance.
