We made observations – Force PRO reacts to backlash over Portable’s arrest

The Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Police Force, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi says the NPF has made some observations from the trending video of Portable’s arrest.

DAILY POST recalls that the controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was on Tuesday arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police.

The ‘Zazu’ hitmaker was arrested for allegedly refusing to pay the debt he incurred when he purchased a G-Wagon from a car dealer.

A video clip which captured his arrest has been making the rounds on social media platforms.

In the viral video, Police operatives were seen using force on the singer as he allegedly attempted to evade arrest.

The video clip, however, generated mixed reactions from netizens who claimed that the singer was treated like a common criminal.

An X user, @oluwa_toomisin posted, “Portable is a Celebrity, I don’t see reason to use force against him, this situation clearly show that the officers are their to act lawless Bcus someone paid them to come and arrest him.

“Bro give Police 10k to help u arrest someone, dem go do pass u send em”.

Reacting to the post, the Force PRO on his official X handle said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police would address the matter, stating that the Police have made some observations.

He wrote, “On Portable matters, we have asked the CP Lagos to wade in and address the matter. There are some observations we made, and these have been pointed to the CP.

“@BenHundeyin to discuss this with the CP and make sure necessary steps are taken. @PoliceNG, @PoliceNG_CRU, @LagosPoliceNG”.
