Police confirm kidnap of two farmers in Osun
Two farmers Samuel Oladotun and Fashola Tobiloba were kidnapped, according to the Osun State Police Command.
On Thursday at Ile-Ogbo, Ola-Oluwa Local Government Area of the State, two unidentified persons abducted both farmers.
The Command’s spokeswoman, Yemisi Opalola, disclosed that the police were already investigating the situation.
Additionally, she expressed confidence that the situation would be resolved and the victims would be saved.
According to a trustworthy security source who requested anonymity, the victims and seven other people were riding in a bus back from their farms on Wednesday night when it was attacked near the Oke Osun Area, Ileogbo.
Six of the victims, it was learned, were able to flee, but three were kidnapped and transported by their kidnappers to an undisclosed destination.

“While moving the victims, another one escaped, leaving two others in the captives’ custody.
“Relatives of one of the victims received a call from the kidnappers this afternoon. They asked for a sum of N10 million to release them. The Police and members of the Nigeria Forest and Security Service are combing the bush in the area.
“When they called, the kidnappers spoke in a language that we don’t understand. It is not English but they mentioned the amount they wanted as ransom,” he said.
He also disclosed that members of the Osun Amotekun Corps had been drawn into the investigation.
The two were taken, making this the first kidnapping reported in Osun in 2023.
