Police arrest four for burglary in Edo
The Edo State Police Command has arrested four suspects for allegedly breaking into the apartment of their victim and stealing property worth N15 million in Benin City.
DAILY POST reports that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Funsho Adegboye, who disclosed this to newsmen in Benin City, said the suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Ekiadolor Divisional Headquarters.
Adegboye gave the names of the suspects as Sunday Ehiosu, Patrick Okon, 26, Godswill Omorege, 23, and Malik Shola, 26.
He said the Ekiadolor Divisional Police Officer received a complaint from an individual (name withheld) that when he returned from travelling, he discovered that unknown person had burgled his apartment and stole some of his belongings worth N15 million.
He said the operatives, after a painstaking and diligence investigation of the case, arrested one Sunday Ehiosu while he was trying to sell off the items he stole from the complainant’s house.
He said after preliminary investigation, the case was transferred to Command Crack Team, which arrested Patrick Okon, Godswill Omorege and Malik Shola who participated in the crime.
Adegboye, who said the suspects made statement and confessed to the crime, declared that they will soon be charged in court.
