Nigerian Woman Mauled to Death by Stray Dogs In Italy

A 27-year-old Nigerian woman, Patricia Masithela, met a tragic end after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Latina, a town in Italy’s Lazio region. The heartbreaking incident occurred late Monday night at an abandoned villa where Patricia had gone to visit a male acquaintance.

According to reports, Patricia, who had recently relocated to Lazio from Nigeria, was unaware that her friend was not at home when the attack happened. Her screams for help alerted neighbors, but by the time help arrived, she had sustained severe injuries.

Emergency responders found Patricia lying in a pool of blood, with deep wounds all over her body. Police intervened by shooting two of the dogs to allow medics access to the scene, while the remaining pack fled.

Despite being rushed to Santa Maria Goretti Hospital and receiving immediate medical attention, Patricia succumbed to excessive blood loss and severe injuries.

The young woman, a devoted mother to a five-year-old daughter, leaves behind a grieving family and community. The tragedy has sparked outrage and renewed calls for stricter measures to control stray animals and enhance public safety in the area.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, focusing on how the starving dogs came to be in the area. Residents are demanding swift action to prevent similar occurrences and protect the community from stray animal attacks.
