Police rescue man from kidnappers’ den in Osun

Osun Police Command has confirmed the release of a traveller, Yinka Okunade, abducted on Saturday by gunmen along Ife/Ilesa expressway in Osun State.

It will be recalled that the gunmen waylaid a commercial bus travelling along the expressway on Saturday, April 24, 2021 around 7:40pm and abducted the passenger.

DAILY POST learnt that local hunters and others security operatives were drafted to the bush to rescue the victim since Saturday night.

The police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola while confirming the release said the victim was released unhurt on Monday evening around 10pm.

She said the victim had been reunited with his family.

“Due to intensive pressure on the kidnappers reported to have kidnapped one Mr. Okunade Yinka along Osu / Ife expressway on Saturday around 6:00 pm, I’m happy to inform you that the victim has been released since last night unhurt around 10:00 pm.

“He was reunited with his family this morning.”
