Ogun to resuscitate Olokola seaport project
Ogun State Government has said efforts are in top gear to resuscitate the Olokola Seaport, as well as initiate other developmental projects, with a view to developing the state, particularly the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.
The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, made this known during the 5th coronation anniversary of the Osobia of Makun-Omi Kingdom, HRM Oba Kazeem Salami, at Makun-Omi Motor Park, Ayegbami.
She said the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration remained committed to developing the area, as well as tapping into the potential and natural resources of the local government.
“We are working with Afrexim and Arise to resuscitate that project among other projects that we have to bring to Ogun Waterside in the next three years, as a way of fulfilling our pledges to the people of Ogun Waterside.
“We will develop and harness the natural resources that Ogun waterside has, be it in agriculture, oil, gas and the natural draft of the deep-sea port,” she said.
While noting that the area was blessed with natural resources, the deputy–governor assured the people that, as the Chairman of Ogun State Boundary Committee, the state would not lose a square meter of its land to neighbouring states.
