Ballon d’Or 2024: Gary Neville Names Three Contenders

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has identified three players he believes will be strong contenders for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. In his Overlap newsletter, Neville named Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Phil Foden as the top English players in the running for the prestigious award.

All three players were included in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season for 2023-24, highlighting their exceptional performances. Neville noted that their level of talent is matched only by France’s stars Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann.

“The UEFA team of the season was released on Monday, made up of the best players in the Champions League in 2023-24, and Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, and Harry Kane were all in it,” Neville wrote. “All three of those will be Ballon d’Or contenders at the end of the year. Only France, with Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann, have comparable attacking talent to England right now.”
