Disney animation “Iwaju” premeires in Lagos
Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Pan-African Entertainment Company Kugali unveiled their new series “Iwájú” in Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday evening. Set in a futuristic Lagos, the captivating coming-of-age tale follows Tola (voiced by Simisola Gbadamosi) from the affluent island and her best friend, Kole (voiced by Siji Soetan), a tech-savvy youth.
Filmmakers Olufikayo Ziki Adeola (director), Hamid Ibrahim (production designer), Tolu Olowofoyeku (cultural consultant), and Ré Olunuga (composer) were joined by celebrities from the industry, including voice cast members Ireti Doyle, Chioma “Chigul” Omeruah, Kehinde Bankole, Bisola Aiyeola, Femi Branch, Simisola Gbadamosi, Toyin Oshinaike, and Obi Maduegbuna.
