Chinese firm refutes alliance with mining company
A Chinese mining firm, Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited, Nigeria, has denied having any business relationship with another Chinese company with the name Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. Ltd.
The chief executive officer of Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited, Ke Kunkun, in a statement issued in Lafia and obtained by Daily Trust, said an online report stating that Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited is a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. Ltd was not correct.
“We, Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited, Nigeria, are aware of a recent statement about our company’s relationship with Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. Ltd. Our company hereby declares as follows:
“Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited is an independent limited company legally registered in Nigeria according to Nigerian laws. The company’s business scope includes lithium ore exploration, extraction, laboratory analysis, processing, and sales of lithium carbonate.
“Firstly, Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited, Nigeria is a limited liability company with a business scope in the local area of Nigeria. Our company’s name “Ganfeng” in the phonetic meaning in Chinese, represents the hope of achieving a sweet harvest through hard work in Nigeria. It is a reflection and promotion of corporate culture as well as our hopeful vision for the future.
“Secondly, since its establishment, Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited has never relied on or utilized any resources or influence from Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. Ltd. to develop or engage in business activities. It has also never had any impact on Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. Ltd in any form. Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited has always focused on its own operations in Nigeria.
“Therefore, we solemnly declare that Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited is not a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. Ltd,” he said.
