SUICIDE: Student rescued after jumping into river

A woman who is thought to be a polytechnic student in Delta State made an attempt on her life by jumping into the river from the Oghara-Benin Bridge.

TopnewsNaija gathered that a witness disclosed that the student plunge from the bridge into the river as they were traveling back from Benin.

They allegedly parked on top of the bridge and called for help.

Locals under the bridge leaped into the river and made their way to the area where the woman fell in.

According to reports, the drivers also called Divisional Police Officer Oghara, who dispatched men to the scene.

The student was reportedly saved alive and transported to the Oghara Teaching Hospital for treatment.

However, as at the time this report was filed, the lady’s motivation for her behavior was unknown.

As of the time this story was filed, DSP Bright Edafe, the state police public relations officer, could not be reached for comments on the event.
