A Kaduna State High Court has fixed May 25 for ruling on the “no case” submission filed by the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem EL-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenat.
El-Zakzaky and Zeenat have been standing trial for culpable homicide punishable with death, and criminal conspiracy, filed against them by the Kaduna State government, following a bloody clash between IMN followers and the convoy of the then Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Burutai, in Zaria in December 2015.

Addressing reporters after the court session, lead counsel to IMN leader, Femi Falana (SAN), who was represented by Marshal Abubakar, said: “Eventually, they called the last witness today; there are 15 witnesses. The last (witness) was called today to testify to the happenings and events of December 12 and 14, 2015.”
